Position Summary/Job Duties:

Lallande

Job Title: Lallande Evening Server
Pay: $20-25/hour based on experience
FT/PT: Part time
Hours: Wednesday-Saturday 2/3/4pm-midnight (must work at least 2 shifts/week, and one must be a Friday or Saturday)

Primary Job Duties:

Do you love taking care of people? Do people tell you that you explain things well or tell the best stories? Do you remember the little details about your meals and love to describe them?

We are seeking a team member that loves food and wants to share that with our guests. Lallande is a French inspired bistro with a wine forward menu. We are looking for someone who responds well to coaching, has great endurance, and integrity. Our shifts can be long and busy, but they are very meaningful. Our restaurant is open Wednesday-Saturday. Most shifts begin at 2pm and end at Midnight. And we all do dishes and clean up together. You must be at least 18 to apply for this position and able to work during Badger football games and stay with us at least 9 months. Ability to cross train to food runner and host as well. Pay is based on experience.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide a warm, friendly, helpful, welcoming, and memorable experience to guests at Lallande
  • Help guests with food and beverage selections by making recommendations and answering questions regarding the menu
  • Stay updated on all menu items, allergen options, farmers, purveyors, beverages, and more
  • Submit orders to kitchen and bar correctly
  • Keep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression
  • Serve food and beverages
  • Process payments
  • Work as a strong team to help as needed in other areas
  • Adhering to all sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage controls
  • Keep space tidy and clean, assist with dishes
  • Assists with special events, as needed
  • Addresses guests concerns appropriately to management

Experience is preferred in the restaurant industry, but if you are passionate and eager to learn, we will train you in an intimate restaurant environment. We're looking for a dependable self-starter who can think quickly and memorize orders, as well as a person who has a positive attitude and great interpersonal skills.

Competencies:

Our servers must be self-motivated, kind, hardworking, organized, able to multitask, and have a good attention to detail. Great interpersonal skills and communication with coworkers, management, and customers is needed. Friendly and able to work in a fast paced environment. Able to receive constructive criticism feedback on a daily basis, and willing to ask questions to meet Lallande’s standards.

Education and Experience:

  • 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Server experience preferred
  • Legally able to work in the U.S.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Ability to stand on feet for entirety of shift
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
