Department Overview:
UW Fleet Services is a department within Facilities Planning and Management (FP&M) on the UW-Madison Campus. We serve a variety of customers with diverse set of transportation needs.UW Fleet Services maintains a fleet of around 850 class 1-8 vehicles for UW business travel. UW Fleet services handle approximately 10,000 vehicle reservations a year, in addition to building, procurement, maintenance, and coordinating accident repairs.

- Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.- Must have a motor vehicle record that meets UW Risk Management standards, which allows employees to drive the state of Wisconsin-owned vehicles.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Wisconsin driving laws and regulations
- Ability and willingness to stand, stoop, bend, twist, squat, and kneel.
- Ability to maintain a professional relationship with customers and co-workers.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Seeking an independent, self-motivated student employee to assist with various daily operations duties for UW-Madison Fleet service. Primary duties include:
- Fueling, cleaning and recording mileage each morning for vehicles that were returned the night before.
- Maintain order in the fleet lot, and move cars as needed.
- Clean the interior and exterior of vehicles.
- Inspect vehicles for needed repairs.
- Deliver and retrieve vehicles and parts from area auto dealer and other vendors.
- Obtain body estimates for repairs and damaged vehicles.
- Assist with snow and ice removal in the parking lot of vehicles.
- Assist fleet office staff with duties as needed.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to work outdoors, including fueling and cleaning vehicles, even in severe weather conditions.
- Ability and willingness to stand, stoop, bend, twist, squat, and kneel.
