POSITION TITLE: DevOps Engineer III

POSITION LOCATION: Austin, TX, San Carlos, CA or Remote, USA

POSITION SUMMARY:

At Natera we build fast, reliable and scalable software that is easy to test and deploy. Our Engineering team works on a set of applications including EMR systems. As a DevOps Engineer your responsibilities will include building scalable infrastructure on which we deliver our software as well as managing development tools that are used on a daily basis by the members of the Engineering team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop automation and CI/CD processes to enable teams to build, test, deploy, manage, configure, secure, scale and monitor their applications using the latest technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform and others.

  • Develop, support and automate infrastructure solutions in AWS/GCP

  • Work closely with product teams in all phases of SDLC to investigate areas of improvement and seek for bottlenecks.

  • Guide and encourage the teams to follow DevOps practices.

  • Participate in operations efforts and be the point person for infrastructure activities.

  • Build tools for monitoring applications and underlying infrastructure, and ensure critical applications are monitored in the right ways.

  • Participate in architectural decisions to help improve the quality of our software and infrastructure.

  • Configure and manage development tools such as Atlassian Bitbucket, Bamboo, Artifactory, Terraform Cloud and others.

  • Be ready to respond to a team or business critical incident in a timely manner. (Participate in an on-call rotation)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or a similar role.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience in Linux/Unix administration.

  • Experience with Python and Shell scripting.

  • Experience with SQL and relational databases.

  • Ability to read and understand Java code.

  • Experience with AWS.

  • Experience with Kubernetes.

  • Experience with Terraform and Ansible.

  • Experience with Docker.

  • Practical experience managing applications deployed using Docker in Cloud.

  • Experience with container orchestration tools.

  • Practical experience building CI/CD pipelines.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues ranging from system resourcing, network issues to application stack traces.

  • Strong communication skills. Be able to justify and stand for the proper solution.

  • Experience with Atlassian applications is nice to have.

  • Experience programming in Java or other OOP languages is nice to have.

  • Experience with GCP is nice to have.

  • Experience with Kafka is nice to have.

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.Remote USA$111,500—$139,400 USD
