About the Role
Our client is seeking an freelance animator proficient in traditional Japanese anime animation for a project. The project involves the development of a 60-minute anime movie over a six-month period, starting in August and expected to be completed by February. This is a remote position, and the animator will not be required to be on-site at any point. The role is on a contract basis and is expected to be a long-term engagement. A mid-level experience in the anime industry is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the writer to understand the project's vision, characters, and storyline.
- Develop character designs, backgrounds, and other visual elements that align with the desired traditional Japanese anime style.
- Create storyboards and animatics to plan out the animation sequences.
- Animate the characters and scenes using traditional hand-drawn techniques, ensuring smooth and expressive movements.
Requirements
- Mid-level experience as a traditional Japanese anime animator, with a strong portfolio showcasing character animation and visual storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in traditional animation techniques, such as pencil and paper drawing, as well as digital animation software if needed.
- Deep understanding of anime art styles, character design, and animation principles.
