Overview:

You’re a visual systems and patterns thinker with experience developing design systems and patterns for data and workflows. You'll work closely with design & engineering leadership and contribute to our lively design culture while collaborating with your product and engineering teammates to deliver rich and intelligent solutions to unique problems.

With meaningful experience in Insurance / insurtech, fintech, or rich business and consumer workflows, you excel in abstraction and uncovering forms in processes and user experiences. While comfortable creating new patterns, you enjoy finding ways to incorporate established patterns in UX and UI.

You’ll be a key player in design efficiency as well as effectiveness, in enabling patterns of best user experience including accessibility. This is an opportunity for someone wants to be part of our vision for being most admired in our industry by our customers.

What you’d be doing:

  • Developing SageSure’s foundational design system to solve rich and dynamic problems.
  • Advocating for design system integration and pattern-oriented design, and reporting on the value proposition of rationalized design work.
  • Collaborating with product managers, engineers, and other designers—from brainstorming to implementation—and facilitating cooperation among relevant parties.
  • Devising strategies to bring clarity, coherence, and consistency in design identity across a variety of customer-facing web applications.
  • Facilitating conversations on improving product features through abstraction and the use of patterns.
  • Championing best user experience and accessibility.
  • Communicating the rationale behind the intentions, decisions, and goals of proposed design solutions while incorporating constructive feedback through design iterations.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Experience developing design systems and collaborating with front end engineering.
  • Experience abstracting designs for specific use-cases into broad, reusable patterns across multiple software products.
  • Facility in working with data heavy but whitespace respecting patterns, and experience discovering, designing, and advocating for meaningful digital service experiences that meet strategic customer and business needs.
  • A demonstrable grasp of usability & accessibility.
  • Experience measuring, reporting on, and advancing the value proposition of design systems.
  • Experience creating artifacts that illustrate complex workflows in order to define problems and find solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain evidence-based design decisions for review and implementation by teammates.
  • Strong attention to detail, including language, patterns, visual design flaws, etc.
  • A portfolio that tells a story of problem solving with quality visual designs showcasing your eye for detail; clear and thoughtful writing; thoughtful discovery practices; etc.

Highly preferred candidates also have:

  • Experience in insurance / insurtech / fintech / rich B-to-B-to-C software applications.
  • Demonstrable capacity for subject matter expertise and understanding of the needs of industry experts as they deliver the best experiences for our customers and our business.
  • A proven track record advocating for and growing design mindsets and team culture within organizations.
  • Proficiency working with a fully remote team.
