Job Description

Meta is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the Video Infrastructure (VI) Creator Tools team. Video infrastructure (VI) builds client and server video SDKs for short-form video, VOD and Live across all surfaces (web and mobile). The Creator Tools team focuses on developing core technology that fuels next generation video and audio creation experiences in FaceBook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Reality Labs, and more. The team’s mission is to democratize content creation and give audio and video production superpowers to the everyday FoA user. We are looking for candidates who share a passion for driving new standard and ML-assisted creation features, develop innovative audio and video creation technology, tackle efficiency and reliability challenges in order to make our creation features available to billions of users.Software Engineer, Media Creation Technology and Infrastructure Responsibilities
  • Integrate and optimize media creation algorithms
  • Build, analyze and optimize creation pipelines, identify and remove bottlenecks in different layers of the production stack
  • Code using primarily Python, C/C++, Objective C, Java, Kotlin, React, PHP
  • Partner with other teams in order to integrate the media and creation technology into the product stack
  • Conduct design and code reviews
  • Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various SDK components
Minimum Qualifications
  • Programming experience in either C, C++, Objective C, Java Kotlin, or other relevant coding languages
  • Experience in developing and optimizing audio and video creation infrastructure and in productization of complex signal processing algorithms and ML models
  • Experience in identifying computational, memory and other bottlenecks and driving integration changes to make them faster and more efficient
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Industry experience in developing and maintaining audio/video software
  • Experience in audio and video editing and in operating at least one audio or video software editing platform
