Job Description
We’re seeking a skilled and experienced bookkeeper to manage the financial operations of a dynamic remote camp business. In this role, you’ll be responsible for handling significant transactions, working with specialized software, and contributing to the financial health of a company operating in the mining sector. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in a fast-paced industry while working remotely. You’ll be dealing with high-value projects, managing monthly invoices that can reach up to $700,000, and playing a crucial role in maintaining the company’s financial stability during seasonal fluctuations.
Responsibilities
- Process and manage large-scale financial transactions for remote camp projects
- Handle monthly invoicing for high-value contracts, often reaching up to $700,000
- Perform detailed reconciliations and prepare accurate financial journals
- Manage payroll for a small, dedicated team of professionals
- Utilize MYOB accounting software to maintain precise financial records
- Create and analyze financial reports using Power BI dashboards
- Monitor and manage the company’s financial email inbox, addressing queries and processing timesheets
- Adapt financial strategies to accommodate seasonal business fluctuations
- Collaborate with management to provide insights for financial decision-making
Requirements
- Proven experience with MYOB accounting software
- Strong proficiency in Excel and data analysis
- Demonstrated ability to handle large financial transactions accurately
- Experience working independently in a remote setting
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools is highly desirable
- Understanding of the mining or resource sector is a plus
- Flexibility to adapt to workload variations throughout the year
