Job Description
As a Bookkeeper for this thriving construction firm, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Reconcile accounts with precision using QuickBooks, ensuring financial accuracy across all projects
- Process and allocate invoices to current projects, maintaining clear financial records for each undertaking
- Manage and track timesheets for subcontractors, ensuring accurate and timely payments
- Conduct professional follow-up calls with clients regarding invoices, maintaining positive client relationships
- Proactively suggest and implement improvements to current bookkeeping processes, driving efficiency and accuracy
- Handle Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST) calculations and applications with expertise
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure financial aspects of projects are accurately tracked and reported
- Prepare financial reports and analyses to support decision-making processes
- Assist in budget preparation and forecasting for upcoming projects
Requirements
- Proven proficiency in QuickBooks, with the ability to navigate and optimize its features for construction accounting
- Strong understanding of Australian GST regulations and their application in the construction industry
- Minimum of 2 years experience in bookkeeping, preferably within the construction or project-based industries
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client and team interactions
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion and integrity
- Familiarity with construction terminology and project lifecycle is a plus
- Comfortable with digital tools for remote collaboration and communication
- Flexible availability to accommodate a minimum of 20 hours per week, with potential for increased hours based on performance and company growth
