This is a remote position.

Customer Support Specialist:

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm Petersburg, FL Time with an hour unpaid break

As a Customer Support Specialist, you will answer phones to enroll students into classes and field general inquiries. You will provide personalized support and advice to mariners as they navigate enrollment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inbound Call Management: Professionally handle incoming phone traffic, providing accurate information and assistance to callers regarding the school's offerings, course schedules, and general processes for obtaining a Merchant Mariner License.
  • Student Enrollment: Guide prospective students through the enrollment process for various classes, ensuring that all necessary information and documentation are collected and accurately recorded.
  • Transaction Processing: Handle payment processing for students enrolling in courses, including verifying payment information, processing transactions, and issuing receipts.
  • Client Support: Offer one-on-one consultations to answer questions, resolve issues, and provide clarity on licensing requirements and procedures.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail to ensure mariners are enrolled in the correct courses.
  • Record-Keeping: Ability to navigate and document registrations our centralized SIS system, ensuring students are enrolled in the correct manner.
